From Dilmun to Wādī al‐Fāw: A forgotten desert corridor, c. 2000 BC

There is a lacuna of knowledge on the inland trade routes across Bronze Age central Arabia, which this article seeks to fill based new evidence from Wādī al-Fāw, Saudi Arabia. Contrary common belief that interior Southeast Arabia after Holocene Humid Phase and until domestication dromedary had turned desolate Badlands, study offers documentation during early Age, commercial corridor connected Kingdom Dilmun Arabian Gulf coast with southern parts probably Yemen. Seals Type, pottery related burial praxis make up gist al-Fāw. A dry mummification mound custom possibly identified at al-Fāw Taymāʾ, contrasts classic custom. An attempt made reconstruct most likely route The emergence around 2000 BC network, donkey trains, closely coincides rise Dilmun, but surprisingly also time when witnessed unusually arid conditions.
